Fans are working on their dalek and wookie attire, commencing countdown, engines on.

With a range of on and off field entertainment on offer for all ages, Saturday will see the largest single day attendance of the HSBC Sevens World Series while Sunday will draw families and fans as both the tournament and series champions will be crowned.

The Marriott London Sevens is the ninth and final event on the series and, with Olympic qualification at stake, the atmosphere will be supercharged.

Teams finishing in the top four will be booking their places in the Rio Olympics 2016. The pool draw will take place following the Glasgow tournament (9-10 May) but the schedule of fixtures is available to view here.

Across the road at the Twickenham Stoop, on Friday (15 May) the Women’s Sevens World Series will be taking place, continuing there on the Saturday before the final and third place play-off take place in front of Twickenham Stadium’s record crowd.

With London being the penultimate round of the World Series, and places at stake for the top four series finishers at next year’s Olympic Games, competition is guaranteed to be fierce.
